Maternal and child health remains a serious challenge in rural Tanzania due to limited healthcare access. Many women and children suffer from preventable illnesses during pregnancy and childbirth. This project aims to improve maternal healthcare, nutrition, and health education services. The program will support prenatal care, safe deliveries, immunization, and emergency referrals. Community outreach and medical assistance will help mothers and children live healthier lives.
Many pregnant women live far from healthcare facilities and cannot afford medical treatment. Maternal mortality remains high because of infections, bleeding, and lack of skilled birth attendants. Malnutrition among mothers and children increases disease risks and weakens immunity. Limited knowledge of prenatal care and child health contributes to preventable illnesses and problems. Poor sanitation and shortages of medical supplies also affect maternal and newborn survival
The project will provide prenatal checkups, safe delivery services, and postnatal care support. Community health workers will educate families on nutrition, hygiene, and breastfeeding practices. Mobile outreach clinics will deliver medicines, vaccinations, and maternal healthcare to remote villages.Emergency transport support will help pregnant women reach hospitals during complications. Nutrition supplements and hygiene kits will be distributed to vulnerable mothers and children.
The project will help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in targeted communities. More women will access skilled healthcare services during pregnancy and childbirth.Children will benefit from improved nutrition, stronger immunity, and healthier growth.Communities will gain better awareness of maternal health, hygiene, and disease prevention.Improved healthcare access will promote healthier families and sustainable community development
