Spring 2026 - Greetings from the Maruki Gallery

By Takuro Sekimachi | Curator

Spring has arrived in Japan, bringing with it the cherry blossom season, a time often associated with fresh starts and new beginnings. We are delighted to share our latest updates with you and sincerely thank you for your continued support.

Renovation Update

The Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels has been closed since last year for essential renovation work. Thanks to all your support, the renovation work is progressing well and most of the interior demolition work has now been completed. However, we are currently facing new challenges, including rising construction costs and additional structural issues discovered during the renovation process. We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work toward reopening the gallery.

100 Must-see Artworks in Japan

We are honored to share that the Hiroshima Panels have been selected for the National Center for Art Research’s “100 Must-See Artworks in Japan: Japanese Contemporary Art Edition.” The work is now featured on their website, which highlights a wide range of contemporary Japanese art.

New Instagram Account for International Audiences

We are excited to launch our new Instagram account (marukigallery_eng) for our international audiences. Please follow us for updates and content in English.
