This is the last report we will be writing for the donors who helped us protect the seahorses of Vilankulo for the last three years through tourism, enforcement, research and education.

As of now, we have signed an agreement with the French Embassy to support our work with fisheries councils to increase sustaibable fishing practices in six communities along the coast through 2025. This will allow us to secure locally managed reserve areas where seahorses and other marine life can thrive. We will also deepen sustainable fishing and marine conservation pratices through capacitity building with fisheries councils and environmental education in the broader community.

This new partnership is only possible because of your support that sustained community led conservation in a critical seahorse habitat.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

...We couldn't have planned a better way to close this chapter than with a visit from Sylvia Earle!

Last month, Sylvia came with her team from Mission Blue to visit our local Hope Spot. It was a great honor to share with her what the Mangalisse community has been up to since we started the seahorse protection campaign.

Along with our expanded work with six communities, we will continue to provide logistical support to the Indigo Seahorse Adventure - the ecotourism business run by the Mangalisse community to provide alternative income to families that once benefited from the illicit dried seahorse trade. The snorkeling tours, which encourage seahorse stewardship, will continue to grow and improve with support from ParCo and local repsonsible tourism hotels.
