At Tom Ro Haven we help 50 people a week who have been victims of physical and sexual abuse, we facilitate healing with the herd of horses, and provide a safe space for all in need of a quiet non judgemental space. With the recent COVID19 lockdown, we have been inundated with calls to help. We need closed shelters for the horses, new saddles , riding equipment and an arena.
Victims of human trafficking, youth and children, substance abusers and anyone suffering from emotional and mental problems are helped by the herd of rescue horses. We currently are on a field with no infrastructure and battle to provide food and clothing to the people who come to us. We have to erect shelters for the horses and ensure their special dietary needs are met as each one has suffered extreme abuse as have the people they help.
This project will allow us to: 1. Buy sufficient food and clothing to address the current needs of the people we assist. 2. Buy the supplements and feed required for the herd. 3. Buy the materials needed to erect shelters. 4. Have a deposit available that we can secure land with. 5. Buy the saddles that we need.
This project will enable us to gain more visibility , as in the local community being able to see the work that we do and the positive impact it has. We will have the shelters that we so desperately need for the horses in the bad weather as well as the sun, as currently they have nothing. We will also be able to assist more people in need.
