The project aims at fighting COVID-19 out from rural communities in 3 central districts of Uganda in Buganda region,Rakai,Lwengo and kyotera. The communities will be sensitized how to prevent from this pandemic that has caused deaths of people, over local radios and loud speakers in their communities by health personals,be given sanitizes,stage awareness meetings of all local leaders ,train teachers and all school stake holder of the preventive measures at schools ,display posters in areas
When covid 19 invaded the country in middle February ,people did not know that it is a deadly disease they took it as myth,not until the government announced the total lock down.The people are still ignorant about the disease,very few people have radios and Televison yet the government uses those media and the language is English which only educated can hear.Many are left behind yet are the majority and elite people.They need also to be aware of this pandemic and to preventive it.
Through sensitization the communities with local medias in their local languages,the people in 3 districts will get to know the preventive measures,improve health levels in their areas through provisions of sanitize rs be put in community centers.The local people will see posters displayed in their places with preventive messages .Training teachers and all stake holders by health person on covid 19 will help to save the future generation ,
The people in the 3 districts will have to know and to prevent from covid 19,This project will reduce the infection of other infectious disease that comes as a result of improper hygiene.The people will also learn to avoid stigmatize the covid victims.Almost all the people will benefit and over 250 schools will be attended to.Over 100 community loud speakers in different centers will be used to create awareness of covid 19 in the area.
