Dear Friend,

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Diwali!

As we celebrate this festival of light and joy, we want to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your unwavering support. Your kindness has brought hope and happiness to families and marginalized communities who need it the most. With your help, we’re able to reach some of the most vulnerable people, offering them the chance for a better and more dignified life in places where little else is available.

Your support means everything to us, and it’s making a real difference. Your support of $100 can support treatment for 10 malnourished children. Together, we can make this Diwali brighter and more meaningful for them.

July Bonus Day for Rural and Tribal Communities of South Rajasthan

57 years of Seva Mandir

We are delighted to share that on April 20th, 2024, we celebrated Seva Mandir's 56th Foundation Day, marking another year of empowering rural communities and fostering sustainable development. Reflecting on a letter from our founder, Dr. Mohan Singh Mehta, written four decades ago, we found his words still resonate, reaffirming our mission's enduring relevance.

This milestone is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our supporters, volunteers, staff, and the communities we serve. Together, we have achieved remarkable progress, transforming lives and creating positive change.

As we celebrate 56 years of service, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and partnership. Your generosity and solidarity drive our success. Through GlobalGiving we at Seva Mandir always feel excited to share about our work, the stories of our village communities and the milestones we reach. In the last year, Seva Mandir has been able to:

Reached over 4,000 out-of-school rural and tribal children through Shiksha Kendra’s and education camps, addressing learning gaps and mainstreaming them into schools.
Provided lifesaving treatment, nutrition, and childcare to 38,000 children in remote villages lacking government facilities.
Empowered over 30,000 vulnerable women through Self-Help Groups, offering credit and savings facilities to strengthen their social status and livelihood. Additionally, 96 women facing abuse and distress received shelter and rehabilitation.
Planted 3.7 lakh saplings over 1,275 hectares, benefiting 15,000 small farmer households and promoting sustainable agriculture and income generation.

All of this and so much more we aim to achieve, only with the encouragement and backing we receive from donors like you.

Today, we are excited to share our participation in GlobalGiving’s July Bonus Day 2024 Campaign. On July 10, 2024, from 09:00:00 EDT until matching funds run out or 23:59:00 EDT, your donations will be matched by GlobalGiving:

Donations of $100 - $499 USD will be matched at 20%
Donations of $500 - $749 USD will be matched at 30%
Donations of $750 - $1,000 USD will be matched at 40%

Manish's Joyful Recovery with Your Support!

Medication at Day Care Centre

Dear Friend,

Three year old Manish lives in the rural area of Jhadol in South Rajasthan and is enrolled in the Balwadi (day care centre) run by Seva Mandir. He has been ill for a long time, which makes his attendance at the Balwadi irregular.

Recognising his condition, the Balwadi supervisor identified him as malnourished and enrolled him in Seva Mandir's community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) programme. Manish's weight was only 7.5 kg when he joined the treatment programme. During the camp, he received the essential medicines and Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) he needed for his recovery. His mother was also counselled on medication and home-based child care practices.

As a result of timely identification and treatment, his condition improved and he gained 3.1 kg in one month. He is now out of danger and regularly attends the Balwadi, where he is much more active and energetic and enjoys playing with the other children.

Thank you for supporting initiatives that are making a real difference in saving lives and improving the wellbeing of children in the tribal areas of Rajasthan.

We are pleased to announce that we are participating in GlobalGiving's April 2024 Little by Little campaign. During the campaign from 8 to 12 April, all eligible donations up to $50 will be matched at 50%. This will make every donation count and help us reach even more children in need.

For example, $10 can treat one malnourished child and $50 can provide therapeutic food for three severely malnourished children. We hope you'll consider extending your generous support once again.
