The diapers have landed! This phrase never ceases to bring me great joy. Since I last wrote, I've been blessed to hear this phrase multiple times, in multiple countries! We are nearing 4,000 lives impacted, I am in awe and so thankful. Lately, there is one little boy that has touched my heart deeply. His name is Caden, and he's just a little bit older than my youngest son.
Caden was born with an extremely rare genetic condition, epidermolysis bullosa. He'll turn three this summer, and most kids born with this condition don't make it past their first birthday. His skin is so fragile and sensitive, it blisters upon minor friction. This means even a simple hug can be painful for him. He was abandoned at birth and now lives in a family style foster home setting in India. His caregivers adore him, and his spunky personality. Last week he suddenly decided that he loved baths, after 1.5 years of baths that he made extremely unenjoyable for those involved. He's got a stubborn streak, and does things on his own timeline! Maybe soon he will decide walking is equally fun.
There is no cure for his condition, and every day his body must be wrapped in dressings and wound care supplies. These expenses add up quickly. Because of your support, he and the other children in his home now have a supply of cloth diapers. This means money that would have gone to diapers can now go towards his unique medical needs.
Each and every donation is a true blessing and enables us to provide diapers to Caden and countless others like him. Want to get more involved with Jake's Diapers?
