A few too many rescues

By Laura | Centre Director

Dear Supporters,

It's been a busy few months with your donations we have been running around 100 steralisation operations per week at our cente. This is a huge step in helping us to tackle the over populated street cats and dogs across Mexico. We are excited to continue this over the next few months.

On a side note we have also been busy with rescues recently and although I can't add all the photo's here I have included a photo above of one of the two puppies that were found on an abandoned piece of land and are hospitalized at the moment due to being severely malnourished and full of parasites luckly with your donations we was able to fund the $400 urgently needed for their treatment.

We also recently hada report of a pregnant dog fending for herself on the street, our medical director went to look for her the morning before we opened at 7:30 am and found her. After a little patience and with food, she managed to catch her, but the momma dog was very afraid, so Diana and Andy went out to help her and with a carrier they all took her to safety.

While our team were working as usual at 8:00 am, momma began to have the puppies... this was a titanic task where we needed all hands on deck and the entire team helped saving the puppies' lives while the vets worked on momma.

We are now taking care of this mom and her 10 puppies but we have a long road ahead as she needs special food, calcium and vitamins, since she was malnourished and she has a lot of work to take care of all her puppies. It's going to cost $2,000 for all these puppies and momma to be treated and then provide them wirth deworming, vaccinations, sterilization, calcium, vitamins, Nupec 1st care food, etc. We can then look at re-homing them all.

Thank You for Supporting our team and project!
