Saving over 2000 stray dogs per month in Ahmedabad

Tom is a stray dog, but to his local caretaker, he is family.

He lost his mother in a road accident when he was very young. Soon after, a kind-hearted local resident found him and began caring for him like his own. Due to restrictions, the caretaker could not bring Tom inside his home, but he made sure Tom was never alone. He fed him every day, arranged a small shelter for him on the street near a shop, and looked after his health with timely care and medication whenever needed.

For a long time, Tom lived safely with the love and protection of his caretaker and the local community. But one day, his caretaker noticed something unusual, Tom did not come to his regular spot for food. Worried, he started searching for him everywhere. After an entire day of searching with the help of some local children, they finally found Tom injured and hiding under a car. He was scared, in pain, and unable to come out on his own. Heartbroken, his caretaker immediately brought him to Jivdaya Charitable Trust for treatment. Our veterinary team examined Tom and found that his jaw was broken. He was in severe pain and needed urgent medical attention.

The team acted quickly. Tom was admitted and first medically stabilized. Once he was ready, our veterinarians performed surgery to repair his broken jaw. Although the exact cause of his injury could not be confirmed, the priority was to relieve his pain and help him heal. After surgery, Tom stayed with the Jivdaya team for a week for post-operative care, medication, feeding support, and close monitoring. Slowly, he began to recover. His pain reduced, his strength returned, and his gentle, playful spirit started to shine again.

Once Tom was strong enough, his caretaker took him back to his familiar area. This time, he also arranged a safer and more secure place for Tom to stay, so he would be better protected from injury or harm. Today, Tom has recovered completely and is back to his normal, playful self.
