The Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) Learning Hub in Jamestown, Ghana, is on a mission! Every month, we welcome 10 new cohorts of children rescued from the streets, offering them a safe haven and a pathway to a brighter future. However, to fully empower these youngsters, we need your support to transform our Learning Hub into a truly transformative space.
Jamestown, a historic district in Accra, Ghana, faces significant socio-economic challenges, with many children living in precarious conditions. Street-connected children in Jamestown are particularly vulnerable, often lacking access to basic necessities, education, and safe environments. These children face numerous barriers to education, including poverty and family instability. Without intervention, they are at high risk of continuing the cycle of poverty and remaining marginalized.
Over the past decade, the SCEF Learning Hub has positively impacted the lives of over 59,520 children. Thanks to the GHIB grant's solar panel installation, we've reached over 19,000 children in the past three years alone. Recent renovations funded by Adenia Partners have demonstrably increased our capacity by 34.33%.
Long-term impacts include improved literacy, enhanced employment opportunities, and better health. The Hub fosters empowerment, social inclusion, and community stability, reducing the number of street-connected children. Its success can inspire similar initiatives globally, driving social and economic progress.
