Good scholarships for children in foster care

Summary

The most important thing for a child is support for their development and maintaining motivation to act. Wards can use the scholarships for emotional work through psychotherapy and multidirectional education. We especially consider foreign language learning, improving artistic skills (e.g., instrument lessons), practical skills (sewing course), or sports development. We often conduct in-depth interviews with candidates to better understand their motivations and capabilities.

Challenge

In institutional foster care either accessibility to psychotherapy for children is insufficient or opportunities for an equal start in school education are also insufficient. As a result, children remain in a closed circle of social exclusion and cannot achieve happy adulthood.

Solution

Accessibility to psychotherapy for children in institutions will be increased thanks to our scholarship program. We're proud in first edition of the program more than 50% scholarship's applications concerned psychotherapy and mental health, which means we recognized the needs well. Scholarship decisions are well thought out and we can provide solutions to every young participant individually.

Long-Term Impact

Systemic change to improve the situation of young adults after experiencing life in foster care in Poland.
