Listra lives with her mother. Sadly, her father died several years ago in a work accident. Listra is the youngest of four children. Her mother sells prepared foods in the evening along the main thoroughfare of the Acholi Quarter to support her family.
Listra enjoys going to school, and especially enjoys learning to read and write. She is a quiet child and likes to help her mother prepare food and do other chores.
Education in Uganda is the golden key that unlocks countless opportunities for a brighter future. It empowers children with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive, paving the way for better job prospects and a boost to the economy. Imagine a community where more people have access to good jobs—this not only helps families rise out of poverty but also spreads happiness and stability throughout the region.
An educated society is more engaged and vibrant, with individuals eager to participate in community activities and governance, creating a more responsive and accountable leadership. Plus, education opens doors for social mobility, giving everyone a fair shot at achieving their dreams.
For just $15 a month, you can make education a reality for Listra.
