The project "Montre m peche pou yon demen miyo" is to ensure that every kid in our community (Artibonite) receives a basic and equal education, giving priority to the poorest, most vulnerable and those who is living in areas affected by gang conflict. About 100 children will be able to go or return to their respective classrooms and their parents will be able to have a small business, allowing them to take care of their children and cover related school fees in the years to come.
More than 6 million Haitians live below the poverty line with less than $2.41 per day, and more than 2.5 million below the extreme poverty line ($1.23 per day). 80% of the existing school are private and cost around $100 per child per year, excluding the costs of books, uniforms and transport, makes basic education inaccessible for many children. more than 320,000 children aged 6 to 14 are not in school throughout the country.
