Thanks to your generosity, Project Fanaka Phase II is well underway and transforming classrooms for thousands of students across rural Anosy. Since the start of the year, SEED has constructed and delivered 1,171 of the 1,307 planned student desk-benches, reaching nine different schools. The progress is remarkable, benefiting over 5,400 children who can now learn in dignity.

Your Impact: A Story of Progress

April 2025

The project took its first major step forward as 214 flat-packed desk-benches were delivered to Ranopiso and assembled on-site, fully equipping classrooms that previously struggled with only 16 usable desks for nearly 700 students. With schools on break, SEED’s team turned vacant classrooms into temporary workshops, making it possible to stencil and distribute the benches right at the heart of the community. Students were quick to use their new desks for exam preparation, a powerful testament to how rapidly your support translates into opportunity.

May 2025

A second major milestone followed just weeks later in Ifarantsa, with 228 additional desk-benches delivered to the primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools there. Before this, just 58 benches had served over 1,000 children, forcing many to sit on the floor during lessons. Thanks to you, 12 classrooms are now fully furnished, giving every student a proper seat and creating an environment that supports focus, participation, and academic success.

June 2025

SEED’s carpentry team ensured that 995 primary and lower secondary school students in Andranobory could sit their national exams in dignity, having built and distributed 217 benches. Before this, there were only 10 usable benches for the entire student population. Additionally, in June, SEED’s Fanaka team supported the local Ministry of Education in distributing final exams across rural Anosy’s primary schools, amplifying their impact even further.

July 2025

In an impressive push forward, 512 desk-benches were delivered across eight different school sites in the Anosy region, reaching even more communities. The students were so excited that they helped carry the new benches into their classrooms to make the learning spaces their own.

Looking Ahead: August and Beyond

As of August 2025, SEED’s team has delivered 1,171 out of the 1,307 student desk-benches planned for Phase II, with the remaining 136 benches scheduled for distribution to the final three schools this month. This means Project Fanaka Phase II is on track for completion before the new school year begins in September, ensuring that every targeted classroom will be furnished, providing children across Anosy with a dignified place to learn.

Your support is creating lasting change; not just in school furniture, but in the lives and futures of thousands of children. Project Fanaka is about restoring dignity to classrooms, improving access to quality education, and showing every student that their future matters.

Thank you for being part of this powerful journey. Together, we are transforming learning environments, one bench at a time.
