Stop 300 children from going hungry in London

Over the past two school holidays we have continued to bring families together, providing children with food and fun between terms.

In December, we organised four different days of activities, including:

• Festive cookie decorating
• A trip to Vauxhall City Farm
• Arts and Crafts Workshop
• Theatre and Circus Performance

The children were delighted with some great experiences, while enjoying hot, healthy food.

Feedback included:

"We had an awesome time every single day. I believe that the last day when the children saw the Circus show was probably the highlight of the whole winter activity."

"I enjoyed very much when our children did a small performance and sang the Christmas songs. It was so sweet and they did really well."

We followed this work up by sharing some love during February Half Term. Children joined us for a Valentine's Day themed arts and crafts session, while being treated to healthy snacks (plus hot drinks for their parents).

"The children has a great time and loved doing all the activities which were planned. They also enjoyed Helen's cooking."

We're already planning our next sessions for the Easter holidays, and look forward to supporting as many children as we can across Lambeth and Wandsworth. 

It's been a busy summer and autumn for our work providing food and fun for children when schools are closed.

At the end of August, we ran two weeks of events between Be Enriched's Food Bus and Brixton People's Kitchen. During that time the children who joined us were treated to a whole host of activities, including:

• Seed planting
• Makaton workshop
• Fort building
• Drama workshops
• Fitness sessions
• Art and crafts
• Sushi and fruit kebab making

Every family that joined us was provided with a healthy lunch, and we recieved very positive feedback about the team and their time with the young people.

As October wrapped up, we also invited families on board the bus for some spooky fun. During the autumn half term, children had the chance to carve pumpkins, and enjoy a hot meal on board the bus. Every session was booked up, and those who joined us had great fun.

We are now looking ahead to what can be delievered during the Christmas school holidays together.
