A Summer of Food, Fun & Friendship at Our Kids Clubs
Dear Friends,
This summer, our Holiday Kids Clubs were busier and brighter than ever. Over a massive four weeks of summer holidays, we welcomed 47 children and their parents into our spaces of food, fun, and community. Thanks to your generous support, we were able to serve 235 nutritious meals, run creative workshops, and make the holidays a joyful time for families who might otherwise struggle with holiday hunger.
We took families on a fun trip to Stepney Farm, where children and parents were able to connect with nature and see firsthand where food comes from. It was a unique and fun opportunity to engage with the animals, get our hands dirty in the soil and learn more about how fruit and vegetables grow. Experiences like this are so important, they spark curiosity about the natural world, build respect for the earth, and show children the journey food takes before it reaches their plates. By linking healthy eating with the environment, we’re helping young people grow up with a deeper understanding of food, sustainability, and their role in caring for the planet.
Highlights from the Summer
What Families Told Us
One parent shared:
“My daughter doesn’t eat tomatoes at home, but she was more than willing to try them here — she really enjoyed eating them.”
Another told us:
“The vegan pasta was so tasty. Could you send me the recipe? Me and my children will try this at home.”
Moments like these show the wider impact of our Kids Clubs, not only tackling holiday hunger, but inspiring families to cook, eat, and learn together.
Why This Matters
The school holidays can be the most challenging time for families already coping with the cost-of-living crisis. Our Kids Clubs provide not only free, healthy meals, but also safe, welcoming spaces where children thrive and parents connect. This summer has shown the huge difference we can make when food, friendship, and learning come together.
Looking Ahead
We’re already planning for the next round of Kids Clubs. With your continued support, we can reach even more families, ensuring no child goes hungry during the school holidays. Together, we can keep bringing food, fun, and joy to children across South London.
Thank you for making this possible. Your generosity turns an anxious school holiday into a time full of nourishment, discovery, and smiles.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Be Enriched Team
