This project seeks to bridge the gap for more than 250 students in Spain from vulnerable socioeconomic backgrounds through a school support program led by professionals dedicated to educational equity. To achieve this, we launch our 'School of Opportunities' every summer.
All children are born with unlimited potential, but many lack access to the proper education needed to develop it. The summer vacation period has been identified as a critical time that worsens educational inequalities, especially for students from lower-income families. This period leads to a disconnection from their usual learning environments. The lack of these stimuli results in a learning loss equivalent to 2 or 3 months of schooling, particularly affecting the most vulnerable groups.
With this project, students receive academic reinforcement in mathematics and language, returning better prepared for the start of the next school year. At the beginning of the School of Opportunities, we conduct a test to assess their level in mathematics and language, and we perform another test at the end. We have found that after 4 weeks of training with us, students improve their language average by 1.6% and their mathematics average by 2.4%.
With this project, we train over 250 students from vulnerable backgrounds who not only improve their academic skills but also acquire socio-emotional skills that help them face their future academic and life challenges.Our students leave the School of Opportunities with a better understanding of themselves and their abilities, knowing that they can expect the best from themselves.
