Story about a beneficiary:
Feza, 16 years old: I was taken and abused by militia soldiers in Walikale bush when I was 13. Tree years later, I came back to village. Everybody was despised. It was a shame. I decided to leave and go to Goma town. I start new life with prostitute girls. I was the youngest of the team. There life was had. I was bitten many times by my teammates even by men and abused. My face was full of scars. I had passed nights in the gutter using sex to keep my life safe from gangsters. One day I was sick. They dropped me on the road because they said if I die, no one would bury me if I die.
From there someone took me to Children’s Voice dispensary, later to CBK hospital. When I was healed, I got psychosocial assistance and start a vocational training in the training center. I learned to make clothes. Now I have a workshop of tailors and I am helping new girls (ex prostitutes) beginners to perform after training in Children’s Voice centers. I enjoy my new life.
I have a dream, to become a big designer!
Summary of our activities
The vocational training program is giving more hope to vulnerable girls. In these three months, 35 girls got professional skill and get job in different workshops in North Kivu province. The training is coupled to psychosocial assistance, management and marketing skill.
