The School Uniform Program plays an important role in giving young people from disadvantaged communities an opportunity to go to school without worrying about buying school uniform.
In South Africa education is free, but you have to buy your own school uniform. School uniform differ according to different school color's, For young people who come from a disadvantaged community like Kliptown, where survival is the motto and poverty is a sin. A community of + 49 000 people with the unemployment's rate at 72%, most of the families cant afford to proved school uniform for their young ones and that is why we had a high rate of school dropout.
By handing out free school uniform for the young people of Kliptown, it will help decrease the school drop out and also give all these young people the opportunity to be at school everyday without being chased out or turned to be laughing stocks in the school premises.
