We are so excited to be launching our tree nursery to expand our native tree planting efforts. Our new director, Ibrahim, is a graduate of our youth education program. He is excited to integrate school gardens, tree planting, and women's farming as we work to increase sustainability and resilience in the face of rising temperatures and changing rainfall.
The programs have been slightly interrupted by severe storms and strong rainfall during this rain season, but this is also increasing motivation to pursue new sustainability techniques.
We are starting with a model school garden. The children enjoyed helping to plant and designing the labels and signs! Next step is raising trees so that they can be transplanted healthy and ready to thrive.
