Hello dear AfricAid supporters,
First let me say THANK YOU! We're thrilled that you've chosen to support our school lunch program which continues to provide the critical need for a nutritious lunch to students at Losinoni Primary School. These children, many who walk many miles to and from this rural school, need food to to help them concentrate and stay healthy throughout the day. And since we started the school lunch program at Losinoni School, attendance increased 30% and graduation rates increased 20%.
Do you know that $25 feeds 950+ children a nutritious lunch for a day?
Because of your generous support, we are able to keep up with the growing demand for lunches and have been able to provide 200 more lunches to the students each day.
Thank you for helping.

Hello to our wonderful AfricAid supporters,
I am so happy to write this update upon arriving in the U.S. after spending 2 weeks in Tanzania in May and June. It was amazing to witness our programs first-hand and to see them working and making a difference in childrens' lives.
I saw how critical our school lunch program is at Losinoni school. Losinoni is a rural, Masai primary school where many children walk an hour or more each way to get to school. When we started the lunch program, attendance increased by 30% and the graduation rate increased by 20% to 98% in five years. The program is still going strong and, against all odds, this rural, impoverished school continue to graduate students as an unprecendented rate in Tanzania. Much of it is due to the lunch program. $25 can feed the entire school, now over 900 students, for a day. Where else can $25 make such a big difference?
Thank you very much for your generous support. We are committed to ensuring it goes directly to the Losinoni lunch program and spent wisely.
Asante sana,
Elizabeth Abshire

Dear friends,
Tomorrow morning, I will be leaving for my annual visit to Tanzania. During my six weeks there, I will be visiting several of AfricAid's partner schools, all of which are doing important work to support education in this East African nation. I couldn't be more excited to see how our students have grown in confidence and leadership over the past year.
AfricAid is continuing to provide a daily school lunch for 750 students at Losinoni Primary School. We couldn't do this without your support! We will be leading a group of 11 people to stay for several days at Losinoni village in just a few weeks and while there, we will receive a report from the school leadership about the ongoing impact of the program. At last year's annual meeting, we learned that attendance had increased by 30% at the school since starting the school lunch program, and that transition rates from Losinoni to secondary school have jumped from 20% to 98% at the same time. By the time we write next to you, we hope that we have even more exciting information to share about the program!
I have attached a photo from Losinoni, below. I hope that the smile of this woman in Losinoni's kitchen helps to convey just how needed and appreciated your support is!
All my best,
Ashley Shuyler
