The last 3 months have been some of our busiest to date. We delivered 3,500 science kits to schools, which equates to 250,000 experiments completed by 5-12 year old students across New Zealand.
Our shared community library model means the resource kits are used by many different schools, with a kit staying in a classroom for two weeks at a time.
Hundreds of volunteers replenish consumables and distribute the kits to their local schools each fortnight. It truly is a community effort, and one that teachers love. Here is some recent feedback from one of those teachers:
“What a fantastic kit - so well organised that I could just pick it up and use it. The students loved the hands on exploding volcanoes and also the puzzle globes, We had a blast and lots of learning was done. Thanks house of Science!”
