Scrambling for Good: 1,137 eggstra dozen eggs

Thanks to the generosity of some amazing donors, we were able to provide 170 dozen eggs to families in need that created 2,040 nourishing meals. While we didn’t reach our original goal, we are incredibly proud of this first effort through GlobalGiving Little by Little Campaign. We are also eternally grateful for every single donation that made this possible.

Our campaign, Scrambling for Good, brought some light-hearted fun to an urgent need. We shared updates and egg-themed puns on social media, and we were excited to see our community engage with the cause. These extra dozen eggs helped families prepare everything from simple breakfasts to hearty dinners which stretches limited resources with protein-rich, versatile food.

We also learned a few lessons along the way, especially around tax receipts for Canadian donors. Rest assured, we were able to work through the hiccups and all our Canadian donors were helped and acknowledged.

As a non-government-funded food bank, every donation counts. Can by can and dollar by dollar, we’re creating kindness and fighting hunger together. Thank you for being part of this important work.
