The project ensures support for 130 pupils of Polish descent from the east (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine) in the Dormitory. Children come from poor families, who can not afford to fully pay the costs of them living and studying in a Polish high school. Pupils live in the School's Dormitory for 10 months a year. The Foundation collects funds to provide them with food, care (both pedagogical and psychological) as well as cleaning/hygenic products.
As a result of deportations and various political actions, hundreds of thousands of Polish families found themselves in the area influenced by the former Soviet Union. There are over 256,000 Poles living in Eurasia - safe to say that nearly all of them are dreaming of returning to their homeland. Living in the School's Dormitory and learning at St. Stanislaus Kostka's School allows for a comprehensive and fast process of adaptation and settlement of the descendants of exiled Poles.
The educational subsidy covers only a part of the costs related to maintenance of the Dormitory, the rest of the costs related to providing food, round-the-clock care (24 hours, 7 days a week), cleaning supplies, medicines and equipment must be covered by the Foundation. Families of students can not afford to cover the whole amount of their subsistence. For their families, sending their child to study in Poland is the first step to fulfill the dream of returning.
The project will cover the cost of living for students in the Dormitory. The project will provide food, 24-hour care (including help with homework, psychological assistance, participation in adaptive activities) for 7 days a week as well as cleaning/hygenic supplies for 130 students of Polish descent from the east living for 10 months a year in a boarding school - St. Stanislaus Kostka's School.
