Summary

The village leaders in Mgaraganza Village requested assistance to construct their first ever secondary school for the hundreds of children in the area. The villagers are invested in the project and the school will be run by the Ministry of Education in Tanzania when completed. The design and construction efforts are community-driven and ongoing local support sustains the project. Your contribution helps them make their vision a reality.

Challenge

The village of Mgaraganza, Tanzania currently has no secondary school for the hundreds of children in the area. If children wish to continue with secondary school after they complete primary school, they have to walk for up to 1.5 hours to another village's school. Many of the children are bright and determined, yet they have little option to continue their education. The impact of this reality on village morale is apparent; but the transformational energy of this project is palpable. Join us!

Solution

This project will provide the village with a large secondary school consisting of 16 classrooms, an office for the headmaster, a teachers' office, a store room for texts and a library space. The construction of Amahoro Secondary School in Mgaraganza will greatly benefit the children as they will be able to attend a school close to home, arriving with energy to learn and returning home with energy to help at home and study.

Long-Term Impact

The completion of Amahoro Secondary School will empower the children through increased education and opportunities to continue their education in high school, college or vocational training centers. As more students complete secondary school in the area, they will be better prepared to generate ideas for economic development in the village and contribute to growth and commerce in the area.
