Endemic, native, medicinal plants and trees commonly used in communities for daily life, fire, construction, clothing, natural dyes, and food are now endangered due to overpopulation, changes in the shape of life and deforestation. Solution

Our project will generate the possibility of building a seed bank of plants identified in danger of extinction that are the main sources of biodiversity in the jungle and in the highlands of Chiapas. The conservation, production and commercialization of these seeds, together with the work of women and girls, will be able to rescue vegetable production and the commercialization of seeds within the communities. The project is based on a collaborative scheme of collection and sale in fair trade for

Long-Term Impact

This project will lead not only to the formal creation of a seed bank, but will also lead to the long-term production of plants for reforestation, wildlife reconstruction, and biodiversity and habitat recovery, while simultaneously educates women and provides a means of income. This project unifies the local economy and the empowerment of women and girls who geographically belong to the area, seeking a long-term impact in terms of ecology, economy and culture, recovering traditional ways of life
