We distribute vegetable seeds and support so women can grow food! Women farmers produce more than half the developing world's food, Unskillful women and lack of implements among the seeds farmers has become a felt need, national and international embarrassment. We join with women's gardening efforts in the neediest counties in Liberia including Montserrado, Bong, Nimba, and Lofa. By providing viable seeds and locally-driven support, women can access a path to empowerment, income, and nutrition.
Women contribute greatly to food production, processing, packaging and marketing and their contribution are growing and remain under-estimated and under-recognized. Women seeds farmers have little security or opportunity for training advancement, empowerment and unable to move beyond small-scale seed production farming enterprise due to the extremely limited financial resources at their disposal. Women seeds farmers remain among the most disadvantaged, marginalized and vulnerable group.
If women seeds farmers had access to quality seeds, capacity building training cycle, technical implements and equipment that can equip them with constructive knowledge and reliable skills to perform seed farming enterprise management as men, than there will be an increase in food production within the fifteen counties of Liberia in support of the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) 2030.
The seed project "provide seeds and skills to women seeds farmers in Liberia" This project will enable women seeds farmers to start a small seed businesses to distribute seeds purchased regionally in towns, villages or markets. Once women are able to empower their communities with knowledge of nutrition, farming and marketing, than seeds production can be multiplied and passed on to others.
