This project strengthens the food and productive sovereignty of two peasant associations in Boyaca by developing their technical and organizational capacities to autonomously produce agroecological seedlings. Local production reduces dependence on external inputs, improves crop planning, and strengthens economic autonomy. Greenhouses are integrated into participatory certification and solidarity marketing processes, supporting a broader local territorial toward resilient agroecological systems.
Farmers' associations in Boyaca lack local infrastructure to produce agroecological seedlings, forcing them to purchase them from outside sources. This dependence increases costs, limits crop planning, and reduces their productive autonomy. Furthermore, difficult access and a lack of infrastructure exacerbate their economic and climate vulnerability.
The project will install three fully equipped greenhouses and train farmers in seedling production and agroecological management. It will strengthen their technical skills and enable them to produce locally, thereby reducing costs and dependence on external sources. A communication strategy will highlight the results and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices.
In the long term, the project will strengthen communities' productive autonomy and food sovereignty. It will promote sustainable production, greater resilience to climate change, and a stronger local economy. The skills acquired and the infrastructure developed will enable sustainable and replicable agroecological development.
