I hope that this email finds you and your loved ones very safe and healty. We are witnessing a very hard time for last one year, we hope and pray that this time shall pass away very soon. In this difficult time, our team is committed to provide services to the human being. We are very happy to share with you that during the last one year we have been supporting poor people with disabilities and poor people live in rural areas by give them dry ration kits under stop hunger project. Our hospital team has been reaching out to poor people at door step and provides the kit. We have distributed 29000 Ration kits to poor people with disabilities in Gujarat.
We have continued to provide our eye care services to the poor patients. We were not able to organize mega camps as there was a Government of India guidelines not to organize camps to aviod public gathering. Hence, we have tried to provide maximum services at our vision centers. We have 12 vision centers which are located at different locations. The patients come to the vision center, they avail basic services such as diagnosis, glassess and medicines. For further treatment and surgeries, they are taken to the Bareja Hospital In the first quarter of year 2021, we have successfully conducted more than 4000 surgeries. Now, we have facilities in our Bhuj Center where we can conduct cataract surgeries. I am very happy to share some of the life changing stories with you.
Popatbhai Can Now See Again
A patient named Mr Popat came to Porecha Eye hospital, managed by Blind People's Association, with severe pain in his left eye and complaining of loss of sight in that eye. On examination it was discovered that the transparent part of the eye- the cornea was perforated and there was also a cgorneal ulcer . There was also a thorn inside it which had caused the coloured part of the eye, the iris tissue to prolapse with formation of pseudocornea. Such injuries are common people work in fields where there are thorns and people lose their sight. Popatbhai was advised therapeutic keratoplasty with reconstruction of ocular surface under local anaesthesia, and the same was done. Mr/ Popat is smiling now as is now free of pain and is regaining his vision. Many many congratulations team BPA Bareja and Dr. Sumit for the wonderful work.
