Dear Donors, Friends, and Well-Wishers,
Greetings from Blind People's Association (BPA)!

We are delighted to share with you the progress made during this quarter — a truly meaningful and impactful period for all of us at BPA.

A Milestone Achieved: Launch of BPA Samsara Eye Bank

With great joy and pride, we announce the establishment of the BPA Samsara Eye Bank, a vital initiative to promote eye donation and restore sight. We have received the necessary approvals from the Health Department, Government of Gujarat, and are now fully operational.

In India, corneal blindness affects millions, yet the number of eye donations remains disproportionately low. This is largely due to a lack of awareness and deep-rooted myths surrounding the donation process. The BPA Samsara Eye Bank aims to bridge this gap.

Community Awareness: Turning Vision into Action

To spark change, we launched a Community Awareness Program focused on educating the public about the importance and process of eye donation. Community leaders were invited for a detailed session on how the eye bank functions and the life-changing impact of corneal transplants.

We are thrilled to share that these sessions are already showing powerful results. Many community members have taken the pledge to donate their eyes and have come forward to serve as volunteers and advocates in their neighbourhoods.

A Moment of Inspiration: Kankuben’s Legacy

The first eye donation to the BPA Samsara Eye Bank came from the family of late Kankuben, who selflessly chose to donate her eyes. Her decision has sparked hope and set a precedent that we believe will inspire many others. Her legacy will live on through the gift of sight she has given to others.

Reaching the Unreached: Eye Care Camps

Beyond the eye bank, our outreach work continues with strength and dedication. In the last quarter, we organised:

  • 35 outreach camps across underserved communities

  • 1,583 individuals screened and treated for various eye conditions

  • 523 cataract surgeries conducted free of cost, thanks to your support

These numbers reflect not just services, but lives touched, dignity restored, and futures brightened.

Thank You for Being Our Guiding Light

None of this would be possible without your unwavering support. Your generosity fuels every step we take — from awareness drives to surgeries, from pledges to restored vision.

Together, we are not just treating blindness — we are creating a movement of sight, hope, and humanity.
