Females constitute more than 51 per cent of the entire Ghanaian population and, so education should be a prerequisite for them to be able to significantly contribute to the development aspirations of Ghana. Over the past 2 years Reta Foundation has been working in the areas to improve education in girls. This project will help send girls at school going age who are not in school to school in the rural communities to school by helping them with some necessary basic needs to be in school.
The challenge is that, some families are not able to provide basic needs for their girl child to be in school. This has in a way been hindrance to access for all, especially the girl child, and slowing down progression of the sustainable development goals.
Your support by contribution to this project will help pay for basic needs of many girls for them to be in school from primary to secondary school level. Getting these girls in school by providing their basic needs for school will curb the rate of early pregnancy and early marriage. Since most of the girls who are not in school or who are in school but lacks basic needs for school, falls prey to men who lure them to provide them their educational needs in return for sex, which is a major factor
Once a girl is educated, it will be easier for her to find job, it will promote gender equality and empower these potential women, who will be pillars of their families, country and the world at large. As, if a girl is educated a nation is educated. An investment in a girl from these rural communities to be in school is the best investment for the world and with this project we are going to send and keep these girls in school.
