On September 23rd the new school year has started. There are 188 studenst this year at the LAP (100 girls and 88 boys).
Parents went to send their girls to our school because they are in a boarding school. Many teen girls got pregnant when going to secondary school. In the public school near by, at least 15% of the girls under 18 got pregnant......
The results of the past year were not very good. In order to improve those results we have made a lot of changes in the teaching staff and supervision staff. First of all we have appointed a new director named Pamoussa.
We can already feel the changes in the behaviour of the students. There is a stricter discipline, but the students seems happier.
During the vacation we have completed one of the building for a library and a teachers room.
The first year that the school was opened, we have lost a student due to meningitis. Since then, each year we are vaccinating all the new students and the students of the last year (the vaccination last 3 years).
We really appreciate your continuing support, please send the link of our project to friends and families. They might also want to help send a poor child to an agricultural school.
Thank you.
