This project will put to class 50 children (orphans) that have lost their parents during the conflicts in Rumbek, providing them with excess to primary education. The project will also provide support services to 100 orphans traumatized by the conflicts who are pursuing their studies through the sponsorship of their relatives.
South Sudan has been in wars and conflicts since its independence in 2011. The civil wars and communal conflicts in Rumbek left many children as orphans, depriving them the chance of parenting care and support. 20% of children below 13 years resorted to become streets children because they have no one to take care of their needs or having them excess to education. According to UNESCO 2018 report on out-of-school children, South Sudan lead the world with the highest rate of 2.2 million children.
The project will provide 50 orphans an access to primary education. The project will also facilitate the trauma healing sessions for 100 traumatized orphans to relieve them from the stigma of traumatic events and heal their internal wounds to clear their minds for a better future.
