CW School has a huge IMPACT educating rural girls

By Diana Rae Lewis | Founder and President

Evelin makes 4th place to University Law school
Evelin makes 4th place to University Law school

CW is a full comprehensive academic project and changing lives...making opportunities possible for oppressed & denied rural girls. Our IMPACT is huge!

Evelin was a curious student from the time she entered our CW Primary School at 5 years of age for Kindergarten. She has continued to turn heads with her achievements since she graduated CW in 2013. Evelin went on to study at a university prep high school ( La Carrion) graduating in 2018. She applied to the competitive National University of San Antonio de Cusco to study Law. Hundreds of students entered in the competition to enter the University. Evelin made 4th place (out of 30 places available) for 2019 admission to their Law School. What an achievement! Evelin is a future leader to to work for equality in her society in Cusco. She is the first woman in her family to go to school at all. In the photo she is far left in her Kindergarten class and just look at her now.

THIS IS WHAT CHICUCHAS WASI IS ALL ABOUT.

Evelin has been a member of our special CW Alumnae Sisterhood, renamed the Burnardina Project, that provides funds to keep girls in school, teach a marketable skill, and emotional and psychological support after they graduate from CW. This program is sponsored by an anonymous donor.

I fundraise in many ways to provide FREE Education and much more to our 126 students and 59 alumnae girls. My just published book tells CW's story and 100% of proceeds go to the school.

How did all of this begin?

Flordina entered CW School 2nd grade speaking only Quechua. It was amazing how fast she learned Spanish and quickly caught up with her 2nd grade classmates. She is another of our girls who graduated from CW's first graduating class in 2013. She then completed 5 years at Alejandro Velasco Astete high school graduating in 2018. Flordina immediately applied to study for a Primary Education Professional career at the Uriel Garcia Pedagogy Education Institute and entered in 2019. She dreams of returning to her beloved CW School as a teacher and to be a part of the CW family for years to come.

Flordina is also a member of the Bernardina Project (for our Alumnae) and has benefited during her 5 years at public high school with school uniforms and fees. Today she is still supported by the Berardine Project for the monthly 150 soles tuition, uniform and school supplies of the Uriel Garcia Institute where she studies for her career in education.

The images here show Flordina student teaching at the CW school for Girls. She is a very happy young woman and the CW staff is pleased to have her return to make a difference for other girls like her. THIS IS TRULY WHAT DRIVES CW School Administrator RUTH AND I. We are growing and empowering our CW team from within.

                                     PLEASE DONATE TODAY
The success stories above describe how girls can rise above their obstacles with the support of CW, meet their basic needs of nutrition and improved health and much more for a future out of poverty and full of opportunity. CW school girls will go far as noted with the achievements they have had up to now due to an education and empowerment. Educating Girls is more important today than it has ever been before. Please share Chicuchas Wasi Girl's stories with family and friends and become monthly donors to keep underserved girls in school. Our girls love school and desperately want to learn.

The PIE chart and quick glance chart is to show you how we spend your donations. Deep gratitude is what our CW girls have for you. Your life-changing gift of education and your continued support does so much. Of course you can come visit the school and meet the girls anytime :-) ..we can help you do that if you like.
