Greetings friends,
It's hard to believe we're already at the end of July! Time has flown by, and we're excited to share the highlights from May and June.
Our students are currently enjoying a short holiday as Peru celebrates Independence Day on July 28. During this special time, we also reflect on how grateful we are for the continued support that has allowed us to keep our doors open and provide quality education for our girls for nearly 40 years.
May and June were busy and joyful months filled with learning, creativity, and celebration. We honored both Mother's Day and Father's Day, and our students put their hearts into making thoughtful, handmade gifts to show their love and appreciation for their parents. It was wonderful to see their creativity and the joy these special occasions brought to our school community.
Our curious preschoolers explored the digestive system, asking questions, making discoveries, and learning more about the incredible ways our bodies work.
Bullying Prevention
Our students strengthened their social-emotional learning by exploring bullying prevention. They learned about the different types of bullying, ways to prevent it, and the importance of treating others with kindness, respect, and compassion. Together, we are helping create a positive and supportive school community.
Opening Doors Through Technology
Thanks to the generous support of the Rotary Club of Sonoma and the Rotary Club of Cusco, our students now have access to a state-of-the-art computer lab that is helping them develop the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
From our preschoolers taking their first steps in digital learning to our sixth graders building technology and research skills, the lab is a valuable resource enjoyed by all of our students. We are deeply grateful for this investment in their education and future opportunities.
Together, we are empowering the next generation through learning, innovation, and access to technology.
The 2026 school year in Peru will conclude in mid-December. Until then, our calendar is full of activity as our students continue to grow academically, families and students receive ongoing emotional support, and our community comes together to celebrate special events, including graduation at the end of the school year.
Every day, we see the impact of the opportunities made possible through your generosity. Your continued support helps sustain the Chicuchas Wasi School and Family, ensuring that our girls receive the education, care, and encouragement they need to build brighter futures. Thank you for being an important part of our community.
