YOU have made such a huge difference in the lives of the girls we serve at the Chicuchas Wasi School and to show our appreciation we try to keep you as current as possible on our website, Facebook and these emails where we include you in all of the latest news and achievements. Your loyal support is heartwarming and we want you to know what you allow us to accomplish with your donations. You probably wonder exactly how we use your donations to educate girls at Chicuchas Wasi School. We never lose sight of our focus to educate and empower our girls to be prepared to be the change makers for their society and their families. For equality for girls is the future. Our school offers the best academic classes and we use many interactive and creative ways to engage our girls and spark their interest, all free to the students at the CW school. Girls selected to attend CW are unable to attend public school due to poverty, gender bias, and distance from a public school. I might add that their mother language is not Spanish (the language that is used in public schools) but the Quechua language, the language of their families and communities, that limits them in a system that does not value this language. Without the Spanish language it is impossible to survive in public school.

Our girls are able to go to school and their futures will reflect their education.

In addition to quality academics, we include in our curricula:
- Spanish, Quechua and English languages
- We stress values for a quality life of respect and dignity
- We encourage expression and curiosity to develop self-confidence and self-esteem
- We use art to teach students to think outside the box and learn the value of working together to reach their goal (ex. making costumes to act out Inca history - in photo)
- We provide a hot nutritious daily meal to girls who often lack basic nutrition at home due to poverty
- We provide safe transportation to and from school for all 110 girls ages 4 to 12 and our attendance is excellent at 99%.
- We promote the value of girl’s education to their families, communities and the society by participating in cultural events, parades and marches
- We include parents and the community in the development of CW school and welcome their support and hands-on special projects by parents
- We encourage artistic talent with poetry, music, dance and theater to tell a story, demonstrate a value or make a statement to student body and parents
- Most important is the constant flow of love and support that permeates the entire student body and staff and creates peace and safety for all
- We show them the incredible Quechua culture that runs through their veins and to be proud of what their ancestors have given society
- We train our well prepared teachers beyond academics, to support our incredible girls, often the first in their family to be educated
- The CW team is passionate about educating girls and this energy is contagious to all who visit us
- We teach students/parents the importance of good nutrition for healthy bodies and minds and are raising Guinea pigs to supply protein for school meals with the help of the parents
- We encourage student classes to pick up litter as an example for their community on how to protect the earth

The programs above are what make Chicuchas Wasi School unique. We go beyond the basics and teach our girls to reach beyond the stars for their dreams and not let go.
