Your loyalty to girls education and the Chicuchas Wasi dedication to educate poor girls is making their lives and futures so much better. We could not do this work without YOU and our incredible teachers, so passionate about getting our girls out of poverty.

Our teachers are exceptional in getting and holding the attention of all of our girls to engage them in class work. Student enthusiasm to learn is constantly observed. Our teachers don costumes, dance traditional dances along with our girls and contribute their support and amazing spirit of solidarity with girls.

Using a creative and changing teaching style keeps the lesson alive and interesting. Students are drawn out and into the lesson at hand. Administration and Teachers support and organize student awareness events for international Day of the Girl, Earth Day, Educate your Daughter Day and Stop Domestic Violence to Women and Girls Day.

                       The value of dedicated teachers:
If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come to us from strong, healthy, functioning families, it makes our job more important.

Teachers meet weekly at the school with administration for updates on what is working and make changes as needed to the curriculum. There are special teacher workshops semi-monthly on Saturdays for new techniques to stimulate learning. 

We have occasional educational field trips to city historic locations and museums. Recently, a donor sponsored all 112 students, with teachers to supervise, to travel by train for a first-time-ever visit to Machu Picchu for visual Inca history lesson. The photo below represents 1/2 of our student body (entire school was trip was split in half to be manageable.
