Every December since 2013, when we filled all grades in our new CW school, we have graduated from 10 to 11 students on to public high school. The girls in this photo represent some of the alumnae who were able to make this first meeting of the CW Alumnae Sisterhood in 2014 that meets semi-monthly to share progress, tell stories and problems and offer guidance to the next graduating class.
Our relationship with the CW Alumnae is very close, since many girls are forced out of school due to the economic struggle their families suffer. Our connection to the girls has enabled us to know of their progress and struggles and we have often matched them up with kind people who visit our school and to help them to stay in school, pay for their uniforms, books and supplies and fees at the public high school.
I would like to tell you about one of our graduates, Flor Dina, pictured here above and in blue below, to show you how CW is changing lives. Flor Dina came to Cusco with her mother from the rural countryside speaking only Quechua. Every door was closed to them and she and her mother had to overcome all they lacked personally for city life, having lived in rural simplicity. They could not find a school to accept Flor Dina until they came to Chicuchas Wasi where she was given an education in values, a quality academic education including Spanish and personal empowerment to prepare her to confront her difficulties and dream of a better future knowing that she could reach her goals, in spite of the added difficulty of caring for a sick mother and their extreme poverty. Since her graduation 3 years ago she has held the 1st place in achievements in her public high school. Flor Dina dreams of becoming a Psychologist so she can help those who need it and especially her mother who found life's struggle so overwhelming that alcohol took over her life. Young Flor Dina has one more difficulty to overcome. CW team stands by her and she will reach her dream.

Chicuchas Wasi is able to educate and empower 112 girls each year and our girls are changing their families and communities by their example, even teaching parents how to use their voice and to vote. YOU have believed in them and your faith in them has fueled them forward. Just look at the 3 girls (Flor Dina in the middle) CW is truly their home away from home. THANK YOU!

Flor Dina with the microphone is shown with her CW graduating class in 2013. CW is dedicated to Educating Girls like Flor Dina and opening up the doors of opportunity that their mothers never had for a future liberated from poverty and oppression.

Educating poor Girls could not be more urgent than it is today. Your financial support enabled us to educate another 112 girls in 2016 and graduate to high school 10 girls.
THANK YOU
Growth and Development of children is as important as Education of Girls and serious business at CW. With good nutrition from our meal program CW has improved the health of our girls (thanks to our great cooks) and vitamins and iron. This is because of YOU our CW family.
