New Horizons: Dreams and education into action

By Robert Sutton | Project Assistant

Amanda's New Glasses
Amanda's New Glasses

Amanda, a student at the The Scheel Center/El Centro Scheel recently received a small but critical gift, new glasses.  These came via a special benefactor in the USA who responded to her specific need.  She can now see the whiteboard… a vital horizon.

In similar fashion, The Scheel Centre seeks to help Break the bitter chains of poverty by creating new horizons for our students with quality education, healthcare and family development for the region’s poorest children. In one of the most desperate neighborhoods in Jocotenango has been a ray of hope in the community for the four years that its doors have been open.

The Scheel Centre continues to support, educate and train, but also to expose the youth to new horizons.  Whether attending the new Reading Club, or taking a class hike to celebrate International Earth Day with a field trip to Cero de la Cruz, we can work together to help expand perspectives and create new horizons.

We hope that you will continue to support The GOD’S CHILD Project as this school year progresses. Whether in formal studies or seeing the world of new opportunities, we still need your help to keep these kids in school and support their dreams for a hope-filled future through long term education, and new horizons.

The Scheel International Technical Training Center provides disadvantaged youth with the tools for long-term success.

Please donate today and pass this link along to friends and families so that they too can get involved.
