The previous school year was very disturbed by the COVID 19. Nursery schools were closed mid March 2020 and did not reopened.
The children coming out of the 2019-2020 school year will unfortunatly not be as well prepared for primary school than in previous year.
The new school year will be starting October 1st. The leaders of the schools are back to work on September 15th.They will start the recruiting of new children for their schools and get organised for the the opening of the schools.
Parents do not send automatically their child of 5 years old to the nursery schools. The mothers association managing the school and the employees of the school have to go house to house to promote the school.
Most parents have children in primary and secondary schools. Additional expenses even small (7us$ per year / child) is not a priority for them.
The adults working at the school will be wearing masks and there will be more soaps sent to the school. We will also provide the schools with bleach.
Last year in the 6 nursery schools there were 343 children (168 girls and 175 boys). For tis new school year we forecast a small increase to 360 children with objective to have 50% girls.
We really hope that we will be able to complete this new school year without interuption.
