End of May was the end of the school year 2022-2023 for 3 of our nursery schools.
For 2 others (village of Nefrelaye and Fina) it was an abrupt end mid May.
Mid May, terrorists came to the village of Nefrelaye and told everybody to leave their house. We immediatly close the nursery school. We do not know if and when the villagers will be able to go back home. So far it seems that all infrastructures of this village are still intact.
In the village of Fina which is not too far from Nefrelaye, we closed the school mid May also even if the villagers on a preventive measure. The terrorists did not came to this village.
We sincerely hope that we will be able to reopened both schools beginning of October.
This is a very sad situation, but we can only keep helping the children where we can.
The building of the new nursery school of the village of Sipigui should be completed by end of August and will opened with children beginning of October. A director for this school has been recruited and 2 women from the village are in training to support this director.
To try to combat the terrorists, we need to be able to offer education to the children.
