Important Update on School Reopening

Due to the recent cholera outbreak in Lusaka, the reopening of schools in Lusaka were postponed from January 29th to February 12th. During this challenging period, the Chance4all team were instrumental in supporting our students in ensuring educational continuity, by providing customized homework packages designed to cater to the varied learning needs of each student.

Our proactive approach has been focused on narrowing the educational divide, ensuring that every student has access to the tools necessary for academic achievement.

Together, we look forward to a year of learning, growth, and success. Welcome back, students—let’s make this year unforgettable!

Chance4All Annual Workshop: A Pivotal Gathering

On March 2nd, Chance4All community came together for the Annual Workshop that proved to be a cornerstone event for parents, students, and teachers alike. Here’s a brief recap of our enriching agenda:

1. Scholarship Rules Review We conducted a thorough examination of the Chance4All Scholarship Rules. Our goal was to ensure that the guidelines for primary and secondary pupils are not only fair but also accessible to all.

2. Parental Involvement The workshop highlighted the indispensable role of parents in the success of Chance4All. We delved into strategies to boost parental engagement, such as the provision of school supplies, to support our students’ educational endeavors.

3. Child Abuse Awareness A significant focus was placed on raising awareness about child abuse and its detrimental effects on the emotional and academic growth of children. By arming our community with the necessary knowledge and resources, we aim to foster a safe and nurturing environment for our young ones.

Confronting Climate Change: Our Collective Endeavor

As the world faces with the escalating impacts of climate change, our resolve to contribute positively remains unwavering. We’re proud to empower the students of Chance4all with critical environmental knowledge, fostering a ripple effect of awareness throughout the community.

Each month, our enthusiastic students and faculty team up with Leopards Hill Mall and a diverse array of organizations to spearhead the “Clean and Green” initiative. This commendable effort unfolds within the Bauleni compound, where hands join in unison to rid the area of waste—a known exacerbator of climate change.

It’s a community in action, united by a shared vision of a healthier planet. Together, we’re taking a stand against climate change, affirming our commitment to the well-being of our world.

Empowering Our Youth: Another Milestone Workshop at Bauleni Special Needs School

On April 5, 2024, we hosted our first workshop of the year, overcoming the challenges posed by the cholera pandemic. With the theme “Menstrual Education and Sexual Reproductive Health,” we welcomed 60 bright pupils from 5 different schools, fostering a space for open dialogue and learning.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Menstrual Education: Breaking the silence around periods.
  • Menstrual Cup Introduction: Embracing sustainable menstrual products.
  • Sexual Reproductive Health: Understanding our bodies, rights, and choices.
  • Mental Health Awareness: Prioritizing psychological well-being.
  • Child Abuse Prevention: Protecting our children.
  • Cholera Awareness: Sharing life-saving preventive measures.
  • Climate Change: Addressing environmental impacts in Zambia.

These sessions have sparked meaningful conversations, challenging taboos and empowering students to discuss sensitive topics openly, even those considered taboo in our Zambian society.

Conducted twice each term, we’re committed to nurturing well-informed, supportive communities among our learners, dismantling the stigma around menstruation, and promoting holistic health.

Your active participation and generous contributions are the driving forces behind the positive transformations we seek. Together, we’re not just envisioning change—we’re making it happen!
