The project intends to the reduce the problems of the children hosted by the Creche centre, who are traumatized and who suffer from hyperactivity or inactivity, with a new sensory room. The sensory room is specifically designed to provide the kids a complete sensorial experience, so that they can develop their senses and skills. Special lights, music and objects in the room have a soothing and relaxing power on the traumatized kids.
In Bethlehem many children live in conditions of family hardships, the school facilities are inadequate and there is a lack of teachers. Children who have problematic situations in the family or who are left alone are exposed to many dangers. From these factors, they can occur in behavioural and psychological problems. In this context are needed centres that are dedicated to these children, accompanying them towards family reintegration or fostering.
The project consists in implementing the sensory room of Creche where different types of therapies can be put in place in order to alleviate some problems, including hyperactivity and inactivity, due to traumas, which children in the centre suffer from. In particular, the project wants to improve the children ability to react and interact with their environment, their physical movements and to reduce behavioural problems.
Through the purchase of different materials that will help to achieve these goals together with the therapist, children can improve their skills, ability to memorize and their concentration. They can also benefit from improvements in their mood, relax and be calmer. Moreover, children can also increase their balance and coordination.
