Help us serve over 1,000 men, women and children in St. Marc, Haiti with life-saving primary medical care and health education. For seven years, we've hosted annual health fairs that provide education and training to 150+ medical professionals and medical examinations to 6,500+ men, women, and children. Each patient receives 3 months' worth of medications and vitamins. They also receive a Sac de Sante wellness kit filled with non-perishable food, self-care supplies and dental hygiene products.
Poverty and limited access to basic primary medical services increases the transmission rates of preventable communicable, chronic and waterborne diseases. Additionally, there is a generation of motivated young people with the desire and ability to address the country's prevalent health care needs but lack of institutional knowledge and opportunities to do so.
HEAL Haiti delivers health care and education. Our annual health fairs educate and train over 150 medical professionals and nursing students and provides life-saving medications, medical examinations, and disaster relief preparedness training to over 6,500 men, women, and children. Our health and community-driven experiences include diabetes testing, chronic and blood pressure monitoring, pediatric and dental hygiene screenings, and sexually-transmitted infection and mental health education.
HEAL Haiti is committed to building institutional capacity on-the-ground to maximize the long-term impact of our efforts. HEAL Haiti plans to break ground on a globally-recognized Academic Health Consortium and Wellness Center in St. Marc. Through partnerships with local organizations, medical providers and educators, we will develop a cadre of highly skilled health professionals prepared to respond to Haiti's healthcare needs and deliver sustainable quality primary healthcare in Haiti.
