Introduction:
Uganda’s youth population faces a significant challenge with high unemployment rates, particularly in rural areas. Many young Ugandans possess limited access to resources, training, and capital, which prevents them from establishing or growing their own businesses. The tailoring sector, which has immense potential for job creation, has been underdeveloped, particularly among the youth. Development Alert is just filling in the gap by providing young, unemployed tailors with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Objective:
The primary goal of this initiative is to provide sewing machines and start-up fabrics to young and unemployed tailors, equipping them with the necessary tools to establish their businesses, improve their skills, and promote self-employment in the tailoring sector.
The secondary goal is to create a ripple effect by encouraging more young people to venture into the tailoring industry.

The distribution of sewing machines and start-up fabrics to young, unemployed tailors in Uganda is a valuable initiative that not only address youth unemployment but also help foster sustainable self-employment in the tailoring sector. By equipping young people with the necessary tools and skills, we empower them to build their businesses, reduce poverty, and contribute to the local economy.
