We recruit woman aged 18-55, living in deep poverty in our local township of South Africa. Forced to drop out of education, early to support their family they are left unemployed, unskilled, and often confined to informal shack housing, they have no pathway to earn a living but they want to. Your donation sponsors their place in our Stitch & Learn sewing school, giving them the skills, tools, and confidence to become self-reliant entrepreneurs. With your help, they can transform their futures.
Many South African women face extreme poverty and unemployment, with few opportunities to gain skills or earn a living. Without education or training, they remain stuck in a cycle of dependence. This lack of access to vocational programs holds back their potential to become independent and contribute to their communities. Our program is not only training but it provides employment where they make a good living wage to change their future and help their family survive life in the townships.
This program sponsors women to attend our sewing school. Each woman receives hands-on training in tailoring, patternmaking, and business basics. Your donation covers tuition, materials, and mentorship. With these skills, she can launch her own business or gain employment in the fashion industry, breaking the cycle of poverty. Coming to us unskilled we support women by after completing their final exam they can join our sewing business or take up a mentorship to start their own business.
Your support helps build a future where women become self-reliant leaders in their communities. Sewing skills not only provide income, but also confidence and dignity. Graduates often go on to train others, multiplying the impact. This ripple effect helps reduce poverty and strengthen families for generations to come. Graduates also join our local nonprofit business that sells school uniforms, corporate African gifts and sells to tourists at local markets. We also have a mentor program for women
