Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank the donors who have already supported the Sex Education for Rural Women to Stop Many Births project. Your generosity shows concern for women who lack access to accurate reproductive health information. However, the donations received so far are not sufficient to begin full implementation. More support is needed to carry out the planned sessions.
In many rural communities, women give birth to large numbers of children without understanding how pregnancy occurs or how to space births safely. Access to accurate information is limited, and myths about family planning are common. Clinics are often located far from villages, making it difficult to seek guidance. In some homes, discussions about sex and protection are discouraged, leaving women without reliable sources of information.
Young girls frequently marry early, and women may be blamed for repeated pregnancies even when they lack the knowledge or ability to prevent them. Limited awareness increases health risks associated with frequent childbirth and short birth intervals.
This project will organize small, women-only group sessions within local communities. Trained female health workers will use simple visual materials and local languages to explain how the body works, how pregnancy occurs, and how to space births. Participants will receive clear guidance on protection methods, including condom use. Local peer guides will also be trained to continue sharing accurate information within their communities.
Providing access to basic reproductive education can help women make informed decisions about their health. Better understanding of birth spacing can reduce health complications and improve family stability.
Although initial donations have been received, additional funding is required before sessions can begin. We kindly invite more donors to support this effort to improve reproductive health awareness among rural women.
Sincerely,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
