Challenge

According to UNICEF Cambodia, education is critically important to Cambodia's development. The country's development strategy focuses on its young, dynamic, and mobile population as a major contributor to sustainable development and economic growth. English Language and computer skills are critical for international communication in the economic growth of Cambodia. This project will affect 7090 villagers who contribute to the mobile population in rural Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Solution

Cambodia has one of the youngest population demographics in the ASEAN region and that presents both opportunities and challenges. ABO offers education and community-led development to meet needs that affect 2553 villagers of rural Cambodia by delivering quality English lessons, safe and clean water, and sufficient nutrition to ensure adequate learning in the early years of life. ABO graduates have gone on to become Accountants, Social Marketers, Business Owners, Military personnel, and more.

Long-Term Impact

This project educates students, allowing them to communicate internationally and gain substantial employment, assisting them in breaking the cycle of poverty in their villages (2553 commune members and 20,000 village members) and contributing to Cambodia's sustainable and economic growth. Through our school's technical, vocational, and life skills education, more young people will be able to support and contribute to Cambodia's social and economic development.
