Have you ever seen a big parade? Maybe your favorite team won the championship and hundreds of thousands of people gathered to welcome the team home. There may have been confetti falling from the sky and everyone cheering. You may have even seen the athletes take selfies with people in the crowd and hoist their big trophy into the air. Or maybe your town has an Easter parade!
The people thought Jesus had come to be their King! They wanted Him to save them from the Romans who were oppressing them. There was one big problem though. They didn't know that Jesus' kingdom is in heaven, not on earth. They wanted Him to fight with force, but Jesus came in love to save people for eternity. He came to bring eternal peace.
Since spring has finally arrived, the melting snow & warm sun are putting a smile on everyone's face. Soon, we will be ready to store our shovels & sleds for yet another year. Of course, the beginning of spring also means Easter is almost here! Like all holidays and celebrations, Easter represents great fun for little ones, especially since it often involves sweet treats. If you ask your group what Easter means to them, chances are they will mention chocolate, the Easter Bunny, and Easter eggs.
Beyond its religious origins, Easter provides us with a wide selection of sweet treats, pastel colors, and decorated Easter eggs. Your support to help children celebrate Easter with their groups with many activities of the day, and above all with a memorable gift that brings joy to a child.
