Brazil's still fighting against COVID-19, and during this time of pandemic, the government recommendation is to stay isolated. But what can you do if you can't afford to stay home and don't have the conditions to buy supplies to be protected? The "Lavatories in Favelas" is the solution that we've found to help this people to stay safe during the pandemic. We'll provide soap and water in strategic points of brazilian slums, reducing the chance of contamination in "Favelas".
Brazil's one of the most affected contries by the COVID-19, with more than 4 million cases, which more than 120 thousands of those ended to be fatal. Contributing to the increase of this number, the concentration of the poorest in communities with lack of health and hygiene is the perfect enviroment for the growth of the pandemic. Despite of that, the majority of the population can't afford to stay home, needing to go work and increasing the chances of contamination.
The "Shared Lavatories in Favelas" is a simple solution to mitigate the chance of COVID-19 contamination by residents of brazilian slums. We intend to provide hygiene to these communities installing washbasins in strategic points that get busy during the day, such as a bus stop or a main street. The lavatories will have free water and soap 24/7, ensuring hygiene to all the comunity population.
According to the World Health Organization, promoting good hand hygiene is one of the most basic yet powerful tools to prevent COVID-19, but our hands are also a major route to many of other diseases. Increasing hand hygiene can reduce the spread of many diseases and in long term can even decrease the costs of public healthcare.
